We, my husband Kenny and I are 4th generation farmers and stockman. We are a cow calf Angus operations and we have a total of about 20 cows and heifers and a bull. We primarily raise a cow calf grass fed angus beef operation. For most all our years in business and that’s been over 40 years we only sold our weaned calves and culled cows and retired bulls at our local cattle sale barn at JC Livestock. We have always raised a beef for our own use and now also for our adult children. We were asked by old friends if we would consider selling off the farm to buyers. We discussed this with our meat locker and are now set up that if we have something available we can sell to the public. We just sold an Angus cow we culled that’s grass fed to be processed into ground beef. She was sold in quarters. We also have a two year old heifer that isn’t working out for our breeding program ready and booked for processing this Nov 3 2026. We are interested in this route of selling some direct to buyer when we have something available and we can get a spot booked at our local meat locker while we will continue to sell our weaned calves at our local sale barn.
