Where Stories From The Heartland Come To Life

About Rosie Bosse, author and history lover

From the great plains of Kansas, Rosie Bosse began her writing career by delighting her grandchildren with tales of farm life and farm animals. Her children’s books are a compilation of those stories including Curly, The Orphan Calf and The Notional Mule. Rosie is a whiz at spinning yarns off the top of her head and takes as much delight in where her tales lead as her readers.

Her love of history, the old west, and ranching life inspired her to write her first historical western novel, North to Cheyenne, The Long Road Home. Set in the late 1800s, the pages from her Home on the Range series are filled with cattle drives, box suppers, and cowboys on horseback. Her tenth novel wraps up the series and will be released in 2024.

With her own cattle rancher of 43 years, Rosie travels, researches, and immerses herself in the culture of her book locations. Her stomping grounds include Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and her beloved Kansas. Where the trail takes her is how her stories emerge.

In addition to writing, Rosie gives presentations and book readings for school children and other groups. She’s a master storyteller, artfully crafting her presentations with action and humor. Sharing the ranching and farming way of life is only the beginning of what lies in Rosie’s head and heart. She promises more to come.

Post Rock Publishing
Big Stories For Small Groups

Post Rock Publishing opened in April of 2022. As a new business, Rosie’s publishing company is eager to write, publish, and create books that will inspire readers and writers of all ages. It was started as a way to bring Rosie’s storylines to life. She wants to share her stories far and wide. She also wants to have a full-circle experience and understanding of the publishing industry. Rosie runs Post Rock Publishing in addition to her writing, and her husband, JR, is right beside her.
