Description
The Carter James Ranch, founded in 2022, is the home of Kansas South Poll cattle. This land holds historical significance as a dairy ranch that traces its roots back to 1895. One of the features of the ranch is the striking peppermint-striped barn and silo. As first-generation ranchers, we invite you to join us on our journey to growing food for our family and the local community on this historic Paola, Kansas, property. We are deeply committed to regenerative farming practices, a journey that inspires us every day as we learn more about improving the soil, the lives of our livestock, and the taste and nutritional value of the food on our plates. This commitment represents a paradigm shift, where we embrace old-fashioned practices over modern conveniences.
At our farm, we currently offer a variety of products: chicken, eggs, beef, and lamb. Our beef and lamb are grass-fed and finished, with the South Poll breed being our preferred choice for excellent grass finishing. Additionally, we have Wagyu cattle that are also finished on grass and are known for their amazing quality. Our chickens are pasture-raised, moved daily, and fed non-GMO feed. Similarly, our eggs are from hens raised on pasture, also moved daily. In our flock, we have a diverse range of chicken breeds, guinea hens, and ducks.
